Beyonce is a Pageant Girl in 'Pretty Hurts' Music Video

My uber fave track from Beyonce’s latest work of art/album is the very moving and very powerful single ‘Pretty Hurts’.  The anthemic song gave such beautiful and awakening message from Queen Bey. With lines like ‘Perfection is the Disease of the Nation…’ and ‘…tryna fix something that you can't fix, what you can't see, is the soul that need the surgery…’ Beyonce really made a classic in this one; my fave line from the song is ‘Just another Stage, Pageant the Pain Away…’  Sia Furler co-wrote the album and I’ve learned that Sia is really a great songwriter, every time that her name is on the song; it is going to be a sure classic. No doubt, ‘Pretty Hurts’ will go down the history as one of Beyonce’s best song ever. I also love the music video, Bey is her other alter ego (aside from Sasha Fierce) Miss 3rd Ward. Bey tackles the reality in pageantry and how beauty and perfection is the important in the glitz and glamorous world of beauty pageants. I can so truly relate to this song, I recently joined a beauty pageant I can say that ‘Pretty Hurts’ is a perfect anthem for me now, LOL! But seriously, Beyonce really hit the mark with ‘Pretty Hurts’, so my question to you now is, ‘What is your aspiration in life?’ Beyonce's new visual album entitled, 'Beyonce' is now available for download in Itunes.

LYRICS:

Mama said, you're a pretty girl
what's in your head, it doesn't matter
brush your hair, fix your teeth
what you wear is all that matters

Just another stage
pageant, the pain away
this time i'm gonna take the crown
without falling down, down, down

Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
perfection is a disease of a nation
pretty hurts, pretty hurts
Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
and tryna fix something that you can't fix
what you can't see, is the soul that need the surgery

Blonder hair, flat chest
TV says bigger is better
soft beach, sugar free
vogue says thinner is better

Just another stage
pageant, the pain away
this time i'm gonna take the crown
without falling down, down, down

Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
perfection is a disease of a nation
pretty hurts, pretty hurts
Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
and tryna fix something that you can't fix
what you can't see, is the soul that need the surgery

Ain't got no doctor or therapeutic that can take the pain away
The pain's inside
And nobody frees you from your body
It's the soul that needs surgery
It's my soul that needs surgery
Plastic smiles and denial can only take you so far
And you break when the paper signs need you in the dark
You left a shattered mirror
And the shards of a beautiful girl

Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
perfection is a disease of a nation
pretty hurts, pretty hurts
Pretty hurts
and shine the light on whatever's worth
and tryna fix something that you can't fix
what you can't see, is the soul that need the surgery

When you'r alone all by yourself
And you're lying in your bed
Reflection stares right into you
Are you happy with yourself
It's just a way to masquerade
The illusion has been shed
Are you happy with yourself
Are you happy with yourself
Yes...
